Philosophy

Poetic Licence Productions Ltd. is comprised of an energetic and ambitious collective of creative people, each committed to producing a new wave of Canadian entertainment. It is our dream to passionately create globally viable programming, and to do it all while paying homage to our homeland.

Originally founded in British Columbia, our team has since migrated eastward to the central hub of Toronto – or as central as we could get. Though the move across the country was a big one, we have even broader plans in mind for Poetic Licence Productions.

We want to broadcast Canadian content to the world, while proving that we have the potential to create high quality media. While we realize this goal, we feel that it is of the utmost importance to create Canadian heroes who can be appreciated on a global scale – and, of course, we want to create enormously entertaining content in the process.

In the coming months and years, we’re looking to form close, prosperous relationships with like-minded companies, and to continue fulfilling our commitment to quality programming with a global mindset.

Montgomery Bjornson

President & CEO

The founder of Poetic Licence Productions Ltd., Montgomery’s vision for a new breed of Canadian entertainment was the first spark of life for the company. While his education mostly concerned theatre and film, he has extensive experience in marketing, finance and management, qualifications that will no doubt contribute positively to the future of this company. Additionally, Montgomery has been heavily involved with non-profit organizations, and plans to continue that involvement in his latest endeavour with Poetic Licence Productions Ltd.

Chris Luckhardt

Chief Technical Officer

Chris Luckhardt is, to put it simply, the complete package - he's a multi-talented, diversely creative addition to the Poetic Licence family. With a Physics and Astronomy degree under his belt, Chris bears a unique fundamental approach of logic and creativity. He first got into the film industry by starting his own independent film production company in 2005, and now brings a wealth of knowledge and determination into our company. He belongs to an important sect of filmmakers who feel that the future of creative storytelling transcends the current form of distribution, and is destined to expand into online broadcasting. Having said that, we're grateful he's on our team.

Tanya Nesi

Exec VP Online Media/ PLP Networks

Tanya Nesi is an extraordinarily creative and unique individual, with a mind full of fresh and entertaining ideas. That's why we fought with tooth and nail to bring her aboard. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Communications and Film/Television Production from Concordia University, in addition to a college degree in Creative Arts. Over the years, she's had invaluable experiences as a director, associate producer, writer, head of product placement, and set decorator - and believe us, there's more. With her airtight knowledge of the industry, we're thrilled to have her with us at Poetic Licence Productions Ltd.

Kate McConnell

Exec VP Treasurer/Secretary

It's a grim sight to imagine the chaos that Poetic Licence Productions would be without Kate McConnell. She has the dubious tasks of overseeing the office personnel, atmosphere and financial records. Prior to joining our team, she lived an eclectic vocational life – in her Bishop’s University days, she was an actor, stage manager, and director; more recently, she managed a hostel and a property developer in London, England. Kate’s unrivaled organizational skills and artistic knowledge make her an irreplaceable asset in our company.

Amy Quick

President of PLP Live Entertainment

A graduate from the University of Guelph's drama program, Amy has a well rounded background in theatrical studies thanks to her involvement in a number of the schools' theatrical productions both on and off the stage. She has a keen interest in being involved in the entertainment industry in as many ways as she can whether it be through writing, directing, acting or anything else that's thrown at her. Her quick wit and energetic nature are two of the many attributes Amy brings to her work at Poetic Licence Productions ltd. Amy is a dynamic individual who has a thirst for compelling, quality entertainment and is happy to be apart of Poetic Licence Productions Live Entertainment.

Scott Leaver

Director of Promotions

While a performer at heart, prior to joining Poetic Licence Productions ltd, Scott had gained an intricate knowledge of the theatre entertainment industry. He has worked with the members of Script Lab and the surrounding Toronto professionals. Scott has been instrumental in the development of several performance based charities, he has had his work displayed at The Canadian Musical Theatre Festival and been co-producer on several different theatrical productions. Scott is very excited to work alongside Poetic Licence Productions ltd while securing the live promotional appearances of our work and characters.
